Acadia Parish, LA – Derrell W. Smith, Jr., Kelsie Murphy, & Sadie Fontenot Killed in I-10 Truck Crash
Acadia Parish, LA (April 10, 2021) – An auto accident reported in the Acadia Parish area claimed the lives of several people on Saturday morning, according to local news sources. On April 8, emergency crews were called to the site of a crash on Interstate 10.
Reports from authorities show that a head-on collision between two vehicles took place on Interstate 10. After the collision, one of the vehicles continued forward and struck a Ford F-250 and a semi-truck.
Three people involved in the crash lost their life due to their injuries. These victims have been identified as 24-year-old Kelsie Murphy of Crowley, 27-year-old Derrell W. Smith, Jr. of Lake Charles, and 25-year-old Sadie Fontenot from Eunice.
At this time, the Louisiana State Police is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
