Avondale, LA (April 19, 2021) – A road-rage accident reported in the Jefferson Parish claimed the lives of three people on Saturday evening. On April 17, the Louisiana State Police responded to the scene of a severe accident on LA Highway 18.
According to reports provided by the police, at approximately 5:45 p.m., a 2002 Dodge Durango was traveling at a high rate of speed behind a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck on Louisiana Highway 18.
The driver of the Durango entered the passing land and crashed into the Ford near Louisiana Highway 541. The impact of the crash caused the Durango to collide with a 2016 Hyundai Elantra.
The driver of the Elantra, 31-year-old Raish-Nia Wright, and 49-year-old Paul Ferrara, were both killed instantly in the accident. A second passenger in the Elantra, an 11-year-old child, was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities confirm that the child succumbed to her injuries after arriving. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
