Baton Rouge, LA – Head-on Crash at Jefferson Hwy & Hoo Shoo Too Rd Ends in Serious Injuries

Baton Rouge, LA (August 23, 2021) – A serious car accident occurred on Jefferson Highway near Hoo Shoo Too Road on Saturday evening, August 21, leaving two people with serious injuries, according to officials on the scene.

Authorities with the Louisiana State Police, EMS, and St. George Fire Rescue responded to the incident, which happened shortly before 5:45 p.m. Officials say the crash was a head-on collision that resulted in severe injuries and the entrapment of at least one victim.

An eyewitness who saw the accident told officers that one vehicle may have crossed the center line and collided with a second car. A representative with St. George Fire confirmed that as of 6:30 p.m., one of the drivers was extricated from their damaged vehicle and was awaiting the arrival of Air Med. They were airlifted to an area medical center in serious condition.

The extent of the other victims’ injuries, as well as their current conditions, is unknown. The investigation is ongoing, and police have said that impairment may have been a factor in the wreck.
