New Orleans, LA – Boat Accident in Lake Pontchartrain Leaves Two Injured
New Orleans, LA (April 2, 2021) – A boating accident reported on Thursday sent two people to area hospitals with injuries. On April 1, the Coast Guards were called to the site of a boating accident in Lake Pontchartrain.
Reports show that a 20-foot recreational boat was located half-submerged on the water. The boat was occupied by two people at the time it began to sink. Helicopters and rescue boats responded to the scene to rescue the two trapped occupants.
One of the victims sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to UMC for treatment. The second victim was rescued by the Coast Guard boat and transported to land where they were provided medical treatment. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
