New Orleans, LA – Man Hit & Injured in Pedestrian Accident on 40th St in West End
New Orleans, LA (August 13, 2021) – Officers with the New Orleans Police Department say that a pedestrian accident causing serious injuries occurred in the West End of New Orleans on Friday afternoon, August 12.
Around 3:00 p.m., a car reportedly struck a man walking in the area of 40th Street, just off of Pontchartrain Boulevard. EMS responded to the scene to transport the man to an area medical center, though details on his current condition were not provided.
The LOPD did not release any details about how the accident occurred but a spokesperson said they don’t suspect the driver who hit the man was impaired at the time. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities, and no citations or charges have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
