Bossier City, LA – Body Recovered From Structure Fire on Leslie St

April 20, 2024

Bossier City, LA (June 25, 2021) – An 81-year-old man from Bossier City died on Thursday, June 24th in a house fire that broke out in the 1500 block of Leslie Street.

Firefighters were alerted by a neighbor who found the body of the unidentified man in the living room.

Officials determined that the fire began in a bathroom in the back of the house. Investigators believe that the bathroom door was ajar when the fire started, allowing smoke to move easily throughout the home. This caused debris to fall, some of which caused the door to close, which led to the fire self-extinguishing but not before it reached the living room where the homeowner was asleep on the couch.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
