Premises Liability in Louisiana
The state of Louisiana has the second-highest drowning rate in the nation. These incidents claim the lives of 5.8 out of every 100,000 children between the ages of 1 and 4. Although children are often victims of these incidents, adults can be killed or injured as well. We see many instances where victims sustain severe injuries as a result of drowning incidents across our state. Victims who are injured in drowning incidents often suffer brain damage, nerve injuries, and a variety of other disabling conditions that require extensive medical care.
It is crucial that property owners take appropriate action to mitigate the chances of victims suffering life-altering injuries from drowning in pools, ponds, and other bodies of water on their property. Many victims are forced to undergo emergency medical treatment and spent weeks or even months in recovery. When victims are injured in drowning incidents, it is crucial that they reach out to a Louisiana personal injury attorney as soon as possible.
