Lafayette, LA (May 17, 2021) – The police, firefighters, and emergency medical services responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the Lafayette Parish area that ended in injuries on Sunday evening.
At approximately 4 p.m., on May 16, crews received notification that their assistance was needed at the scene of an accident on Verdun Street.
Reports from the Lafayette Parish Communication District indicate that a collision between vehicles occurred on Verdun Street near East Foch Street during the early evening hours. The police and firefighters responded to the scene and immediately secured the area as medical personnel tended to those harmed.
An undisclosed number of victims were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment of injuries following the crash. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
