Lafayette, LA (May 22, 2021) – Emergency crews were notified that a traffic-related incident required assistance in the Lafayette Parish area early Friday afternoon. At approximately 12:48 p.m., on May 21, the police and firefighters were called to the site of a crash on Southeast Evangeline Thruway.
Reports from local law enforcement indicate that a collision blocked the Thruway at the intersection of Kaliste Saloom Road. The incident caused moderate delays in the area as the police worked to clear the roadway.
EMS treated injured victims on-site before transporting those in need of further care to nearby hospitals. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
