Lafourche Parish, LA – Elton Billiot and Raye Pigott Killed in Crash on LA-24
Lafourche Parish, LA (July 11, 2021) – On Sunday, July 11th, Louisiana State Police responded to the site of a fatal two-car crash on State Highway 24 in Lafourche Parish, near State Highway 55.
The victims have since been identified as Elton Billiot, Jr., 38, a resident of Houma, and Raye Pigott, 50, a resident of Montegut.
An investigation showed that, at about 8:00 a.m., Billiot was driving northbound on LA-24 in a 2000 Nissan Sentra when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, he swerved across the centerline on a sharp curve and collided head-on with a 2008 GMC Acadia driven by Pigott.
After both vehicles came to a stop in the roadway, the Nissan went up in flames.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
