Lafourche Parish, LA – State Police Investigate Death of Christopher Rivero on Hwy 308
Lafourche Parish, LA (July 06, 2021) – A man died during a head-on collision on Monday, July 5th on Louisiana Highway 308 in the area of Sugar Mill Drive.
The deceased has since been identified as 47-year-old Christopher Rivero, a resident of Raceland
A police report stated that Rivero was driving southbound on Highway 308 in a 2006 Ford F-150 when, for reasons still under investigation, he traversed the centerline and drove into oncoming traffic where he crashed head-first into a 2017 Ford cargo truck.
The driver of the cargo truck and sustained moderate injuries.
Both of them were taken to a New Orleans-area hospital for emergency medical treatment. While at the hospital, Rivero passed away due to his injuries.
Toxicology samples were taken from both drivers. The results are pending analysis.
