LaPlace, LA – 3-Year-Old Fatally Struck on St. Andrews Blvd

LaPlace, LA (June 20, 2021) – On Saturday, June 19th, a 3-year-old child was killed after being hit by a car in LaPlace.

Authorities responded to reports of the accident at about 7:10 p.m. in the 300 block of St. Andrew’s Boulevard. 

Upon their arrival, emergency responders located the unconscious toddler and began performing life-saving measures. The child was then transported to Ochsner in LaPlace and from there was med flighted to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, Brian Weary, a resident of Baton Rouge, was charged with negligent homicide, careless operation, and no driver’s license. Distracted driving is listed as the cause of this accident.
