Minden, LA (June 5, 2021) – Two people have lost their lives following a motor vehicle accident in the Minden area on Thursday evening. Just before 6 p.m., on June 3, emergency crews were requested at the scene of a crash on US Highway 79.
Reports from authorities show that a 2017 Chevrolet Crus was traveling south on US Highway 79 when it collided head-on with a 2013 Toyota Camry near Holly Springs Road.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 27-year-old Matthew Rushing, and the driver of the Toyota, 31-year-old Jessie Watts, were both fatally injured in the accident. The two victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
