September 27, 2021

New Orleans, LA (August 13, 2021) – On Friday, August 13, officers from the New Orleans Police Department reported to the scene of a car crash with injuries on a major highway.

The accident occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 close to the area of North Claiborne Avenue. Several lanes across the freeway were closed as a result of the accident, which also caused a vehicle fire.

Emergency medical personnel also responded to the scene to provide the injured parties with any necessary medical treatment or emergency transportation. Paramedics reportedly transported one victim to an area medical center in unknown condition but appeared to treat other victims at the scene.

NOPD officers say their investigation into the crash is ongoing, and they are still piecing together the circumstances surrounding the collision at this time. Further details about the victim’s identities and the extent of their injuries have not been provided.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
