New Orleans, LA – Two-Car Collision on I-55 at Hwy 51 Results in Multiple Injuries

New Orleans, LA (September 15, 2021) – On Tuesday evening, September 14, the New Orleans Police Department dispatched officers to the site of a car crash with injuries.

The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 55 at U.S. Highway 51. Only one lane of travel was left open, leading to a multi-mile traffic jam in the area.

Emergency medical personnel also responded to the scene to provide the injured parties with any necessary medical treatment or emergency transportation.

Police say two drivers were involved in the incident, but additional information is unavailable at this time.

This accident is under investigation by the NOPD. It’s unclear if citations or charges are pending, though police expect to release further details in the coming days.
