Pumpkin Center, LA (June 14, 2021) – Authorities were called to the scene of a traffic-related incident that claimed the life of one man from the Hammond area. At around 5:30 p.m., on June 10, the Louisiana State Police was requested on-site at a crash on Louisiana State Highway 1249.
Reports from the LSP show that 75-year-old Robert Smith was riding a 2012 Harley Davidson north on Louisiana State Highway 1249 when his vehicle became involved in a collision with a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.
Smith sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured in the accident. At this time, the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
