Intersection Accidents in Rapides Parish

8.07 Rapides Parish, LA - Alton J. Brooks Killed in Two-Car Crash on Plantation Rd

While just about any kind of car accident can take place at an intersection, undoubtedly one of the most severe is a broadside collision. More commonly called a T-bone collision, these violent accidents happen when the front end of one vehicle smashes into the side of another. In 2017, T-bone collisions, along with other kinds of side-impact accidents, were responsible for the deaths of more than 1,780 vehicle occupants nationwide.

Even though most drivers are careful and try to be mindful of others sharing the road, they are not promised the same caution and consideration in return. Due in no small part to this very lack of courtesy and good judgment, several thousand accidents take place every single day throughout the United States.

When an accident that arises from another person’s negligence causes someone harm, it is imperative that they reach out to a dependable Louisiana car accident attorney as soon as they are able. Most crash victims are entitled to financial compensation that is intended to help mitigate the financial obstacles they are sure to face.

Even in the absence of design defects, such as obscured roadway signs, or road hazards like potholes, intersections present a lot of unique risks for drivers all across the country. Where intersections are concerned, there are usually multiple drivers, bicyclists, and even pedestrians in the same small area, all moving at different speeds and going in different directions. Some intersections have as many as six lanes merging all the way down to two. Intersection accidents, even those that occur at slower speeds, have the capacity to cause critical and possibly life-threatening injuries.
