Red River Parish, LA – Marvin Rogers Killed in Two-Car Crash on LA-1

Red River Parish, LA (July 24, 2021) – On Saturday, July 24th, at about 8:00 a.m., troopers from the Louisiana State Police were called to investigate a fatal two-car accident on LA Highway 1, in the area of U.S. Highway 84.ย 

The deceased has since been identified as 31-year-old Marvin Rogers.

The official investigation showed that a 2010 Nissan Altima, driven by Rogers, was heading southbound along U.S. Highway 84. In the meantime, a 2005 GMC Envoy was heading northbound along U.S. Highway 84. For reasons that have yet to be determined, Rogers collided head-on with the oncoming GMC.

Rogers, in spite of being properly restrained at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead on the scene.ย 

The unidentified driver of the GMC, who was also properly restrained, was transported by paramedics to a local medical facility for medical treatment of non-critical injuries.ย 

Even though impairment is not believed to be a factor in this accident, routine toxicology samples were obtained and turned in for analysis.ย 

The exact cause of this crash remains under investigation by the Louisiana State Police.
