Scott, LA – Mykel Francis Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Roper Dr
Scott, LA (June 17, 2021) – One person has lost their life following a motor vehicle accident in Scott on Monday. On June 14, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed at the scene of an accident on Roper Drive.
Reports from local authorities show that 31-year-old Mykel Francis was walking in the area of 1600 Roper Drive when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Andres Lopez Ruiz, fled the scene of the crash without stopping.
Francis sustained severe injuries in the accident. He was rushed to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. Ruiz was subsequently arrested and is facing an array of charges related to this accident. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
