Shreveport, LA – Fire Captain Injured in Fire Truck Crash on Morrow St & Jewella Ave

Shreveport, LA (June 30, 2021) – The Fire Captain for the Shreveport Fire Department was injured when the fire truck in which he was riding left the roadway and struck a power pole on Tuesday, June 29th.

The Captain sustained non-critical injuries and had to be extricated by emergency crews but is expected to make a full recovery. 

The accident happened at about 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of Morrow Street and Jewella Avenue in the neighborhood of Mooretown.  

The fire truck was heading back to the station after responding to a call in the area. 

Investigators have yet to determine what caused the driver to veer off the roadway.
