Slaughter, LA – Death of Tommi Robinson in Plank Rd Accident Under Investigation by LSP
Slaughter, LA (August 19, 2021) – Louisiana State Police have launched an investigation into a deadly two-car accident on Plank Road in the area of Church Street on Wednesday, August 18th in East Feliciana Parish.
The deceased has since been identified as 27-year-old Tommi Robinson, a resident of Ethel.
Early stages of the investigation have shown that the collision took place at about 3:00 p.m. as Robinson was driving northbound on Plank Road in a 2003 Honda Accord just as a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado was driving southbound. For reasons that have yet to be determined, Robinson veered across the centerline into oncoming traffic where he collided head-first with the Chevrolet.
Although Robinson was properly restrained, he sustained injuries so severe that he died at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet, who was also properly restrained, endured moderately serious injuries and was transported for evaluation and treatment.
As part of the ongoing investigation, toxicology samples were collected from both drivers for analysis. The results of those tests are not yet known.
