Sorrento, LA – Injury Car Accident on I-10 at US 61 & MM 188 Under Police Investigation
Sorrento, LA (August 24, 2021) – A vehicle collision involving at least two cars caused injuries to those involved in the Sorrento area, just outside of New Orleans, on Tuesday evening, August 24.
Local law enforcement officers stated that the crash took place around 6:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the off-ramp for U.S. 61 in Sorrento and mile marker 188, causing a multi-mile traffic back-up.
Police officers and first responders were both called to the area. Paramedics evaluated everyone who was involved in the accident, and they say that at least one person required transport to a local medical center. The extent of their injuries, as well as their current condition, is unknown. The names of those involved have not been released.
This accident is under investigation by local law enforcement officers, and police are still piecing together the events leading up to the wreck.
