St. Tammany Parish, LA – Damarcus Jackson Killed, One Seriously Injured in Crash on I-12
St. Tammany Parish, LA (July 01, 2021) – On Thursday, July 01 at about 6:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police were called to the scene of a fatal single-vehicle accident on Interstate 12, in the area of State Highway 21 in St. Tammany Parish.
The deceased has since been identified as Damarcus Jackson, 25, a resident of Lacombe.
An investigation showed that a 2008 Chevrolet HHR was traveling westbound along the interstate when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, the vehicle swerved onto the left shoulder and crashed into a concrete traffic barrier. Following the initial impact, the HHR veered across the westbound lanes, left the roadway’s righthand side, and overturned, striking multiple trees in the process.
Jackson was pronounced deceased on the scene. The other vehicle occupant was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. It is unknown if Jackson was the driver or the passenger.
