Tangipahoa Parish, LA – One Driver Killed in Car Crash on I-55 near Manchac
Tangipahoa Parish, LA (May 25, 2021) – One person has lost their life following a multi-vehicle collision on Sunday morning. Just before 1 a.m., on May 23, emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on Interstate 55.
Reports provided by the Louisiana State Police show that a 2014 Toyota Corolla was traveling north on the interstate when it collided with a 2000 Ford Explorer. The impact of the crash sent the Toyota into a guardrail, causing it to roll over and land upside down in the water.
The Ford was jolted forward where it crashed into a 2010 Toyota Tacoma in the left lanes of the interstate near Manchac.
The driver of the Corolla sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced d3eceased at the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
