Terrebonne Parish, LA (August 10, 2021) – On Tuesday, August 10, at about 10:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troopers responded to the scene of a fatal two-vehicle accident on Louisiana Highway 3040 at the Enterprise Drive intersection in Terrebonne Parish.

The deceased has since been identified as 63-year-old Scott Danos, a resident of Cut Off.

An investigation determined that Danos was riding northbound in the righthand lane of LA 3040 on a 2020 Harley-Davidson Roadster. As he entered the intersection of Enterprise Drive, he collided with a westbound 2021 Chevrolet Equinox that was crossing over LA 3040 on Enterprise Drive.

Even though he was wearing a DOT-approved helmet, Danos sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the Chevrolet sustained non-critical injuries.

A toxicology sample was collected from Danos and will be submitted for analysis.

The driver of the Chevrolet provided a breath sample that showed no alcohol present.

This crash remains under investigation.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Mr. Scott Danos,  at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.

Our motorcycle accident attorneys in Louisiana are interested in results, and we make it a priority to be there for each of our clients to answer questions they have, to help them bypass common legal mistakes, and to deal with the difficulties that so often come up during the legal process.

Severe injuries, like traumatic brain injury or even wrongful death, are often the result of motorcycle accidents, especially when the collision involves another vehicle. This is because motorcycles do not provide any of the safety features that occupants of a passenger vehicle often take for granted, such as seat belts, a roll cage, and airbags, leaving riders susceptible to enduring severe internal injuries, as well as injuries to their spinal cord and brain.

These life-altering injuries can cost several thousand dollars in medical expenses that cause the rider and their family to suffer an economic hardship from which they may never recover.

If your loved one has lost their life as a result of a motorcycle accident, reach out to our wrongful death attorneys in Louisiana at your earliest convenience.
