Pedestrian Deaths in Walker

7.17 https://wgno.com/news/louisiana/pedestrian-killed-in-livingston-parish-crash/

As reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a pedestrian injury takes place once every 8 minutes and a pedestrian fatality happens once every two hours somewhere in the United States. Close to 5,000 pedestrians died as a result of car accidents in 2014. In that same year, 15% of all vehicular deaths were pedestrian fatalities.

At Smiley Law Firm, our team strives to assist our clients in defending both their legal rights and their best interests after losing loved ones in accidents. Our skilled and reputable Louisiana pedestrian accident attorneys have decades of experience helping bereaved families get the justice they deserve for their loved ones.

Approximately 6,000 pedestrians were killed during vehicle collisions across the country in 2017, and a further 129,000 needed to be hospitalized in order to receive the medical treatment required for their injuries.

The majority of pedestrian accidents are preventable but Louisiana continues to witness the disastrous consequences that victims and their families have to endure. When pedestrians are killed in accidents, due to the negligent or reckless actions of motorists, it is important that their families reach out to a knowledgeable pedestrian accident attorney in Louisiana as soon as possible. In some cases, families are able to file legal claims against at-fault drivers in order to recover full and fair compensation to help alleviate the financial burdens they face moving forward.

Almost every single day, Louisiana pedestrians are struck by vehicles and badly injured as they are taking a walk, crossing a street, going for a jog, or simply waiting by the side of the road. A pedestrian has much higher odds of receiving an injury than the occupant of a vehicle. According to Louisiana law, drivers are required to watch for and be aware of pedestrians and show due care to make sure they don’t run them over. Sadly, a lot of drivers fail to notice pedestrians who end up dead or badly injured as a result.

We care about our clients and work hard to help them achieve the best possible outcome for their legal claims so they can get the compensation they need for funeral expenses, burial costs, and more.
