Johnson Bayou, LA (May 17, 2021) – A drowning incident reported in the Johnson Bayou area sent two women to area hospitals with injuries. On May 16, emergency crews were called to the site of an incident in the Johnson Bayou area.
Reports show that at approximately 1:17 p.m., two females were located in the water suffering from moderate distress. One woman was rescued by a bystander. However, she was unresponsive.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and began administering CPR to the injured woman. Two deputies and several bystanders entered the water and rescued the second victim. Both women were rushed to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur for treatment.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
