Rapides Parish, LA (June 17, 2021) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the Rapides Parish area that ended in injuries. Just after 4 a.m., on June 16, emergency crews were called to the site of a crash on US Highway 71.
Reports from authorities show that 49-year-old Kapatrine Sherman was walking in the area of US Highway 71 when he was struck by a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria.
Sherman sustained severe injuries in the accident. Emergency crews arrived at the scene to treat the injured victim. However, the severity of his injuries was too great. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
