Baton Rouge, LA – Cory Jackson Killed, Other Injured in Three-Car Accident on Florida Blvd

Baton Rouge, LA (August 21, 2021) – Authorities are investigating an overnight accident that left one man dead and others injured on Saturday, August 21st in East Baton Rouge parish.

According to a source inside the Baton Rouge Police Department, the fatal crash took place in the 8000 block of Florida Boulevard at about 12:45 a.m.

The deceased has since been identified as 27-year-old Cory Jackson.

Reports show that the crash involved three vehicles, a 2014 Mercedes GL550, a 2012 Nissan Altima, and a 2006 Ford F150.

Initial lines of inquiry have shown that the Mercedes was stopped behind the Ford at a red light at the intersection of Wooddale Boulevard and Florida Boulevard when the Nissan struck the back of the Mercedes, launching it into the back of the Ford.

Jackson, the driver of the Nissan, was transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital where he passed away due to the severity of his injuries.   

The occupants of the Ford and Mercedes all sustained injuries. None of them were believed to be life-threatening.

This accident is under investigation by the Traffic Homicide division of the department.
