Chief Operating Officer / Office Manager | Smiley Injury Law
I serve as the Chief Operating Officer and Office Manager at Smiley Injury Law, overseeing the firm’s operations, financial coordination, and internal performance standards. My role is to ensure that the foundation of the firm is solid — that our systems are efficient, our processes are consistent, and our team has the structure needed to serve clients at the highest level.
I began my legal career in 1994, starting in criminal defense. Those early years shaped my appreciation for preparation, attention to detail, and the responsibility that comes with supporting people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Over time, I transitioned into personal injury law and discovered that my strengths extended beyond case support into leadership, process development, and operational oversight. I have always been drawn to building structure, improving workflow, and creating clarity where complexity exists.
In my current role, I guide the firm’s daily operations, monitor financial and case performance, and work closely with attorneys and staff to strengthen accountability and communication. Personal injury law requires precision, responsiveness, and coordination, and I take pride in helping ensure that every moving part works together seamlessly. When operations are strong, our attorneys can focus fully on advocacy, and our clients can feel confident that their case is being handled with care and intention.
What I value most about my work is the ability to create stability and direction behind the scenes. Clients come to us at vulnerable times, and leadership is not only about strategy — it is about responsibility. Knowing that the systems I help build contribute to smoother outcomes and a better client experience is deeply meaningful to me.
Outside of the firm, I am a proud mother of two daughters and a son, all adults, and a devoted grandmother to my grandson, Hunter, who brings so much joy to my life. Family grounds me and reminds me daily of the importance of integrity, consistency, and leading with both strength and compassion.
I am proud to help lead a team dedicated to serving others, and I approach every responsibility with focus, accountability, and a genuine commitment to excellence.
