Baton Rouge, LA – Police Respond to Accident Involving School Bus on Old Hammond Hwy
Baton Rouge, LA (September 16, 2021) – Deputies from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office were called to investigate a collision between a car and a school bus on Old Hammond Highway on Thursday, September 16th.
Officials said that a car rear-ended the school bus as it was transporting 23 students from Liberty High School at about 2:55 p.m.
The driver of the car, an adult male, was taken to a local hospital.
According to the sheriff’s office, none of the students on board the bus were injured but the driver was transported to an urgent care facility in unknown condition.
No one on the school bus was injured, deputies say.
The bus driver is currently being examined at an urgent care facility, officials say.
