Fort Polk, LA – Child Killed in Fire on Palmetto Terrace
Fort Polk, LA (April 30, 2021) – One child has lost their life as a result of a fire incident in Fort Polk late Tuesday evening. At around 8:49 p.m., on April 27, emergency crews were called to the scene of a fire incident on Palmetto Terrace.
According to reports, a residential fire occurred during the evening hours that prompted the response of several local firefighters. Crews arrived at the scene and began to aggressively battle the blaze. Within a short time, crews were able to take control of the fire. However, one minor was located in the home with severe injuries.
The child was pronounced deceased at the scene due to the extent of injuries. At this time, investigations surrounding the cause of the fire are underway.
