Lafayette, LA – Toni Garner Killed in Two-Car Crash on Johnston St
Lafayette, LA (August 09, 2021) – A woman died following a car accident on Sunday, August 8th.
Police were dispatched to the 4500 block of Johnston Street at about 6:15 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers learned that a southbound vehicle was attempting to turn into a private parking lot when it was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound.
The driver of the turning vehicle, 44-year-old Toni Garner, a resident of Lafayette, was transported by paramedics to the hospital, where she later passed away due to her injuries.
The driver of the striking vehicle sustained moderate injuries and is currently listed in stable condition.
Toxicology results are pending at this time. The investigation into the accident is being led by the Lafayette Police Traffic Unit.
