New Orleans, LA (August 15, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and died after he stepped out of his car on Interstate 10 to check on a previous car accident.

Reports show that the man exited his vehicle on the morning of Sunday, August 15th due to a preceding collision with another vehicle and was hit by the driver of another vehicle that was driving past.

A representative from the New Orleans Police Department said they transported the victim to a local hospital at about 1:40 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at 3:42 a.m.

Police said the striking driver abandoned their car and fled the accident scene on foot.Β Β
