Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Louisiana

Every year, tens of thousands of victims are harmed in motor vehicle accidents across our state. Although the majority of these victims are inside vehicles at the time of their accidents, thousands are traveling along roadways on foot. Unlike other motorists, pedestrians are extremely vulnerable to sustaining catastrophic injuries in crashes. This is due to the fact that they do not have steel frames protecting them during collisions.

According to statistics, more than 80% of accidents occur as a result of driver negligence. When drivers are distracted, impaired, or engaged in reckless behaviors, it can have life-altering consequences for others traveling on and near roadways. Pedestrian accidents are often preventable. However, we continue to see the overwhelming consequences that victims and their families are forced to face. When pedestrians lose their lives in accidents, due to the negligent or reckless actions of motorists, it is imperative that their families reach out to a knowledgeable wrongful death attorney in Louisiana as soon as possible. In some instances, families are able to file legal claims against at-fault drivers in order to obtain full and fair compensation to help cover the financial burdens they face moving forward.
