Gentilly, LA – Unidentified Victim Killed in Two-Vehicle Wreck on Gentilly Blvd

Gentilly, LA (August 20, 2021) – Officers from the New Orleans Police Department were called to investigate a fatal collision between two vehicles on Friday, August 20th in the Gentilly community of Orleans Parish.

The crash took place at about 5:40 p.m. in the 3700 block of Gentilly Boulevard when, for reasons still under investigation, a 20-year-old local man struck a parked, occupied vehicle, causing him to lose control of his own. Due to the impact, the vehicle then overturned, struck two utility poles and then two trees before coming to an uncontrolled stop.

The 20-year-old was thrown from his vehicle and pronounced at the scene.

The condition of the occupant of the parked car is unknown.

The Orleans Parish coroner is working to identify the deceased and, upon completion of an autopsy, determine the official cause of death.
