Livingston Parish, LA – Gail Rippel Killed in Crash with Fire Truck on Pete’s Highway

Livingston Parish, LA (June 16, 2021) – Authorities in Livingston Parish were called to the site of a crash that claimed one woman’s life. On June 13, emergency crews were called to the site of a crash on Pete’s Highway.

Reports from authorities show that a three-vehicle collision, including a Livingston Parish Fire Protection District No. 5 apparatus, occurred on Pete’s Highway. Details surrounding the accident show that the fire apparatus was traveling north on the highway when it crashed into the rear of a trailer. The impact of the crash sent the trailer forward where it crashed into a third vehicle.

The driver of the third vehicle, 85-year-old Gail Rippel, was severely injured. She was rushed to a local hospital where she passed away. The driver of the firetruck was transported to a local hospital for treatment. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
