Fatal Car Accidents in Louisiana
Tens of thousands of victims sustain injuries as a result of motor vehicle accidents across the state of Louisiana each year. These accidents force innocent parties into local hospitals where they often undergo extensive medical treatment. In many instances, victims have to go through long-term treatment, like therapy, rehabilitation, and more. Although we like to believe that victims are able to fully recover from their injuries that is not always the case. In fact, thousands of people are left with permanently disabling conditions from their injuries. Regrettably, traffic-related incidents claim the lives of more than 600 people annually in our state.
When people are fatally injured in accidents, they often leave surviving relatives to deal with the overwhelming consequences. Not only are surviving relatives forced to deal with the mental and emotional pain and suffering of losing a loved one, but they often face towering financial burdens from funeral costs, burial expenses, and the loss of income. Although we can take various steps to ensure others sharing the roads with us are safe, there is no guarantee that other motorists will take our well-being into consideration. As a result, numerous victims end up injured or lose their lives in accidents due to the negligence of others.
