Baton Rouge, LA (July 14, 2021) – A collision between at least two automobiles resulted in injuries to those involved and occurred in Baton Rouge on Wednesday afternoon, July 14.

Per reports from authorities and information released by traffic sources at the scene, the accident took place around 1:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 12 at the intersection of Sherwood Forest Boulevard. Emergency medical personnel and local law enforcement officers both responded to the scene. Paramedics evaluated everyone involved in the incident and provided medical assistance to at least one person who was injured badly enough to be transported to a local hospital. 

The investigation into the events leading up to the crash is ongoing, however. Officers have not released further details about those involved and have not isolated the cause of the incident at this time. The right lanes of the highway were closed for around an hour while police conducted the on-scene portion of their investigation.
