Farmerville, LA (July 05, 2021) – A fatal two-vehicle collision claimed the life of a man from Downsville on Saturday, July 3rd  just outside of Farmerville.

Louisiana State Police determined that at about 6:00 p.m., a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Wiley Reeves, 21, a resident of Farmerville, was heading southbound on State Highway 15 when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2010 GMC Canyon, driven by Johnny Sims, 41, a resident of Downsville.

Sims, who was wearing his seatbelt, was taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.

Reeves was also transported with minor injuries.

Troopers collected toxicology samples and cited Reeves for no seatbelt and driving left of center.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Mr. Johnny Sims, at this time.
