Scott, LA – Discarded Fireworks Cause House Fire, Injures Firefighter on Country Living Dr

April 26, 2024

Scott, LA (July 05, 2021) – On Monday, July 5th at about 12:30 a.m., the Scott Fire Department responded to a residential fire in the 200 block of Country Living Drive.

Upon their arrival, firefighters witnessed heavy flames coming from the attic. They gained entry and were able to quickly get the fire under control.

An investigation revealed that the fire was accidental in nature. The homeowner and their family failed to properly dispose of used fireworks, tossing them into a plastic rubbish bin on the side of the house. The fire smoldered in the bin, then spread up the outside wall, and into the attic.

All family members safely escaped after they smelled smoke.

The structure took major fire damage in the attic and only minor damage in the living area.

No civilians were hurt during the incident but one firefighter did sustain injuries. His current condition and the nature of his injuries are unknown.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Line-of-Duty Injuries in Scott

7.05 Scott, LA - Discarded Fireworks Cause House Fire, Injure Firefighter on Country Living Dr

The biggest advantage of a personal injury suit is that it enables victims to obtain economic recovery for their pain and suffering, a benefit that does not come with a worker’s compensation claim. By filing a personal injury suit, injured workers can pursue reimbursement for all of their damages and losses, including things like decreased earning capacity, lost income, medical costs, future medical expenses, pain and suffering, permanent disability, diminished quality of life, and a lot more.

The compensations available from worker’s compensation, which, at its heart, is simply an arrangement between labor and business owners, are very limited.
