New Orleans, LA – Fatal Bicycle Hit-&-Run at General DeGaulle Dr & Westbend Pkwy
New Orleans, LA (July 21, 2021) – A collision in New Orleans late on Sunday, July 18, resulted in the death of a cyclist.
Local sources revealed that the fatal crash occurred at the crossing of General DeGaulle Drive and Westbend Parkway. Emergency responders were notified of the incident that night at around 8:51 p.m. It was later confirmed that a cyclist was killed in the collision.
Reports from local authorities revealed that the rider was traveling through the intersection when they were hit by an oncoming vehicle. The driver fled the scene without rendering necessary aid to the injured party. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
An ongoing crash investigation is underway.
